About

Welcome all.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog, and I hope it is of some help to you. Before you begin, please take a moment to take in the story of how the blog came about:

A while back I bought an amazing book called 'My Cool Caravan' written by Chris Haddon and Jane Field-Lewis. The book was genuine inspiration for me, having owned a faithful 1988 ABI Award Dawnstar for many years, this book was a fresh slant on caravanning. It showed me that caravanning was so much more worthwhile if you put a little effort into making your little home from home you own. Caravans are pretty much all mass produced in a similar way to cars, so you rarely get a modern caravan that stands out from the crowd. 'My Cool Caravan' showed me that vintage is the way to go and what began was months of visiting vintage shops, fairs and browsing online to find items and ideas to make my caravan my own...

I didn't have to look far before stumbling upon the Facebook group for 'My Cool Caravan', where many caravanner's were already swapping ideas and encouraging the vintage look. It didn't take long for me to gain a reputation for being the 'all knowing' caravan expert and frequently could be found helping people out with their confusing caravan conundrums. It has been a privilege thus far to help.

I'm still happy to help, but decided to create this blog to offer more general caravanning related advice for older caravans. Follow the blog for tips on servicing, repairs and general maintenance to keep your new found pride and joy in top condition. Feel free to ask as many questions as you like and I promise to get around to answering them, the blog is here to help you out on your journey to embarking on the open road....

Happy Caravanning,

Cameron.
